Hi friends, how are you? Hope everything is well with you. As I’m still looking back to last year I wanted to further stop on some of the incredible series I started. They sadly quickly turned into unfinished book series. Mostly because I got struck by either a reading slump or distracted by other books. I started a few series 2020, so today I shall put it out in the universe that these are the books I am hoping to complete in 2021. As you may be aware, one of my new year resolutions was to not set a specific monthly to-be-read list, but simply read what I want, when…

Weekly Reading Update | 2021 | Week 1
Good evening friends! How are you all doing? I’ve been busy watching lots of trash, but also somewhat enjoyable, movies on Netflix and generally just chilling. I have been off work since Christmas Eve and it really has been a much needed break. However, as quickly as Christmas arrived it was done and over within, in what felt like, minutes. It’s back to the grind tomorrow and I am NOT looking forward to rolling out of bed to do some actual work at all. So to distract myself from the fact that it’s Sunday, and I had planned to post a weekly reading update today, here I am. Week 1…

2020 in Books | End of Year Stats and Summary
Happy New Year my lovelies! Today is again time for the annual end of year statistics, and let me tell you, it has been a busy reading year. I read more books than I ever have. I’ve discovered many new authors and read some amazing work. Thanks to Bookstagram, I’ve also made lots of new friends who keep me motivated and reading. Gotta admit, it really has been a struggle keeping my attention on the book in hand and not worry about the craziness that is happening around the world. Yearly Stats In 2020 I read a total of 93 books, across 36136 pages. The longest book was Stephen King’s…

Thursday Quotables | Early Departures
Happy Thursday, friends! It’s time for another Thursday Quotables, this week we’ll be looking at quotes from Early Departures. Really cannot believe how quickly the weeks are flying by. Only last week I was still in Estonia and today it feels like I didn’t just spend nearly 7 weeks there! Thursday Quotables is the place to highlight a great quote, line, or passage discovered during your reading each week. Whether it’s something funny, startling, gut-wrenching, or just really beautifully written. Thursday Quotables is where my favorite lines will be, and you’re invited to join in! Created by Lisa, over at Bookshelf Fantasies, and joined in by, well, me! I’ve read very…

We’re over half way through 2019 and I’ve completely smashed my Goodreads reading challenge already! It’s time to freak out about the books I’ve read so far and I’ve seen this tag around a lot in the last few weeks. I thought it’d be a great little tag to pick up and make into a yearly post. So, without further ado, here’s my first Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag.

Book Review | Pet Sematary by Stephen King
The review for Pet Sematary will be a little different as it is our pick for May’s buddy read with Erren (@abookloversdiary). A few weeks back, I got talking to her and it turns out neither of us have ever, EVER, read a Stephen King’s book. Not one. Ever. Did I say ever? I’ve got a total of 6 books on the shelf and for whichever reason I haven’t picked one up – until now. And I am beating myself up for it! As the book is being stretched out over the four weeks of May, I’m giving a sort of “live” commentary as my review for it. So here…

Book Review | Watching Edie by Camilla Way
My colleague left Watching Edie on my desk the other day and promised me a wild ride. And a wild ride it was. I haven’t read any other books by Camilla Way, but as it transpires her new thriller Who Killed Ruby is already available on Kindle, and paperback will be released in June. It sounds so good!
