The other day, I added every single book on my TBR shelf on my Goodreads Want To Read shelf. Thought it would be quite interesting to list the 20 least popular books on the shelf for today’s post. So here’s the top 20 books with the lowest average rating. Stockholm Ransom – S. K. Vall – 0/5 This was gifted to me by my boyfriend a while back as it was self published by a friend of his. It’s an erotic thriller and honestly I haven’t felt in the mood to read it so far. The rating is zero because so far there are no reviews on Goodreads. Technically it…

Should Authors Respond to Reviews | 30 Days of April #24
Today’s post was inspired by Drew (@SarcasticEnigma, also known as The Tattooed Book Geek). A tweet caught my eye this morning where he was talking about how he wrote a 2000 word review. He was very pleased with it, thought it did the book justice and generally couldn’t have done it any better. A response from the publicist was less positive and they wanted him to add few bits about a book in the series he had not even read yet. Now, I’m shocked to hear this! Maybe I’m naive, but please, that’s shocking. I read the review, it’s very well written; goes right into the book, tells us how…

Interactive Feature: yay or nay? | 30 Days of April #16
Hey, it’s me- coming at you in just a nick of time! I’ve been just completely transfixed with Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (which I just finished btw, LOVED IT!). I don’t see every book like a movie in my head. But I completely lost myself in Eleanor Oliphant and it was easy to imagine myself as a bystander watching her narrative unfold. It also got me thinking what if could add an interactive feature to this book, what would it be? Definitely sound effects. Eleanor is hilarious with her blunt, “say what’s on your mind” kind of way. The situations she found herself in, for example the scene where she ended up…

Review Book Copies | Tell Me Something Tuesday
Hi, so I am fully aware I missed last week’s Tell Me Something Tuesday. This was purely due to the fact I had nothing to add to the conversation. This week, however, I will happily throw in my two pence regarding review copies and how I get my books in general.

Top 3 Books of 2019 (so far) | 30 Days of April #15
We’re half way through April! Hurrah! This also means that we’re more than a quarter through 2019 and it’s time to give an update on the books I’ve got through so far this year. To be honest, I haven’t been reading an awful lot, but have managed to get through 16 books in the last few months. Here are my top 3 books of 2019, so far: Let Me Lie 2019 started off strong! Let Me Lie was the first 5* read this year. It’s incredible emotional roller-coaster and everything a thriller should be. Twists coming at you at every corner until the very end. At no point can you…

A Blind Date with a Book | 30 Days of April #13
Happy Saturday! I’ve seen this all over the show, although I’m a little late to the party. I love to guess the books by just few hints. Granted, I’m not very good at it, but it’s so much fun. So, please come on a blind date with three books from my read shelf.

Bookskatlikes in book tags | 30 days of April #12
I cannot believe we’re nearly half way through April, and as such also the Aprilathon! Today I bring to you another book tag. I found this on the Bibliophile Girl’s blog and following my yesterday’s post, it felt like a perfect day to do the My Blog’s Name in Books tag for you. Rules: Spell out your blog’s name. Find a book from your TBR that begins with each letter. NOTE: You cannot ADD to your TBR to complete this challenge – the books must already be on your Goodreads TBR. (I’m changing this to my home library TBR (rebel!)) Books Kat Likes B – Bad Twins by Rebeca Chance O – One…

TBR Shelf Shame | Updated TBR | 30 Days of April #11
My boyfriend made a point the other day when he noticed that I had bought yet another book. (It was Pet Sematary, so totally okay!) He accused me of storing books everywhere; that anywhere he looked there were stacks of books and I can’t even fit them on the bookshelf anymore! (I personally think that we just don’t have enough shelves!!) It got me thinking that surely I’ve made a bit of progress with my TBR and there aren’t actually THAT many unread books in our house. Right?! Riiiiight, so back in January I wrote a post about the TBR from Hell and how I planned to tackle it. You…

How Do I Rate Books | 30 Days of April #10
Since I started logging all the books I read, I’ve always used a 5 star rating system. The trouble with rating the books that way though is that everyone has their own ways of deciding what the numbers mean to them. Say we both loved the book and I gave it a solid 5, but according to your system you will only give it a 4. I know a lot of reviewers analyse the book to it’s core to give it a rating. I haven’t developed a criteria as such yet and generally just go with how I feel about the book when I finish it. I’m still very-very new to…
