Happy Sunday friends! As usual, today’s post is my weekly (reading) update, cannot believe it’s week 5 already. It’s the end of the longest month of the year and it continues to blow my mind how it simultaneously dragged its feet and flew by.. anyway, here’s what I got up to in the past week: BOOKS I’m still reading The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah. I keep getting distracted by the absolute worm hole that is Tik-Tok and any progress I make with the book is worth celebrating! I make it my goal to finish it next week. @bookshelfraiders announced their February book club prompt (Number in the title), so…

Book review | The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
Hi friends! A very short book review for The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley *incomiiiing!* in today’s post. I picked it up because of @abookloversdiary, who runs monthly book discussions for her Thriller Book Club. I really look forward to chatting to everyone on Sunday for the final discussion. Judging by the chat we’ve been having throughout the month already, this one definitely feels like a “marmite” kind of book. The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley Score /5 Published in 2019, by Harper Collins Get your copy from Amazon, Waterstones and Bookdepository. In a remote hunting lodge, deep in the Scottish wilderness, old friends gather for New Year. The beautiful one The golden couple…

Book review | Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
One of my favourite things about being part of the bookish community on Instagram is the countless book recommendations from like-minded people. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin was a recommendation present from Anna (@girlswhoreadaround) who saw how much I liked The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Afterlife, and speculative books about what happens after we die, do interest me a lot and I was so excited to get started with Anna’s recommendation. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin Rating .5/5 Published in 2016 by Bloomsbury You can order a copy from Amazon, Waterstones In this delightful novel death is a begining, a new start. Liz is killed in a hit a run accident and her…

Weekly (Reading) Update | 2021 | Week 4
Happy Sunday, friends! The day is here to give a weekly update about what I’ve been reading, watching and listening to throughout the past 7 days. But before I start can I just put it on record that it was snowing in London town today! The boyfriend took me on a nice lunchtime walk. It’s the first time in months that I’ve left the house with no actual reason other than wander around aimlessly and get some exercising in! And it felt good. I even made a mini snowman! The whole park was full of life-size snowmen and it reminded me of home so much. Every winter our town would…

Blog Tour | Forever Ends on Friday – Justin A. Reynolds
Happy Humpday, friends! Today’s blog tour stop is for one of my all time favourite author’s new UK book release and I am buzzing! I actually pre-ordered Early Departures, which is the US version of Forever Ends on Friday, without even reading the synopsis. You may be aware that I’m a diehard fan of Opposite Of Always! Jack-Attack for the win. If you haven’t already – read the review here. So you can only imagine the joy in my little cold heart when I got approached to get involved with the UK book tour. (Screams internally!!) Forever Ends on Friday by Justin A. Reynolds Score /5 Pub Date 21 January 2021,…

21 books in 2021 | Read what you own
Afternoon friends! Am I too late to jump on the 21 books in 2021? Oh well, it’s happening anyway. Oops! Yes, one of my New Year resolutions was to only read what I’m in the mood for and not set a monthly to-be-read list, but an annual can’t be too much of a struggle, surely..? Forgive me, I’m not quite sure if this is a thing, but I chose the books from those I already own, so I can support my doomed-to-fail attempt to not buy *too many* books this year… So here’s the list for 21 books in 2021 (in no particular order) from my current TBR: Tiffany D.…

Weekly (Reading) Update | 2021 | Week 3
Happy Sunday, friends! How has this week treated you? As is the case every year, January seems to last for many years, but somehow the weekends come around very quickly. Mind, they’re also over quicker! So with that here’s week 3 weekly (reading) update for you all.. I shall keep this nice and short(ish) for you, so that I can return to binge Bridgerton that’s currently paused on the background! Ha!! BOOKS I finally finished the two books that I’ve been reading for quite some time. Half a World Away by Mike Gayle (5/5) – read more here. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin (3.5/5) – review to come this week 🙂…

Book review | Half a World Away by Mike Gayle
I am struggling to put into words how I feel about this book. Although I was warned by many of you guys when I started this book, that I will need a box of tissues to cope with the heartache, I was not prepared. There aren’t enough tissues in the world to help me come to terms with what I’ve just read. Today’s post is my review of Half a World Away by Mike Gayle, in case I didn’t make it quite obvious in the title of this post.. ha! Half a World Away by Mike Gayle Rating /5 Published in 2020 by Hodder & Stoughton You can order a copy…

Blog Tour | What I Did – Kate Bradley
Hi friends, it’s that time again.. Blog tour for What I Did by Kate Bradley. What a treat! It must be said that this book caught my attention as soon as I started to skim over the blurb. (I’ve spoken about me not reading the full blurb properly, especially for thrillers as I’m too scared for spoilers!). Family dramas, obsessive and dysfunctional family storylines have always intrigued me. What that says about me, I don’t actually want to know! But I am so grateful that it ended up in my hands and started off my reading year with an absolute bang. Thank you so much to Zaffre for sending a…

2021 Most Anticipated Book Releases | Jan – Mar
Hi friends! If last year taught me anything is that you can plan your reading all you want, but at the end of the day your backlist books may have to wait a bit longer if there are any new more *exciting* books coming out! Today I will tell you some of the most anticipated book releases for January, February and March. Hopefully you will find something that will tickle your fancy, too! 🙂 This is something quite new to me; unless I love an author’s previous works I don’t actively seek out the releases until they scream at me on my Instagram feed. But I thought, why not. Also,…
