Book review | The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah
Hello friends! What’s been happening? I finally finished The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah yesterday. It was a very warm recommendation by my boyfriend’s cousin and she did NOT prepare me for what I was about to experience.. so, without further ado, here’s the book review for The Coldest Winter Ever. The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah Score /5 Published in 2005, by Washington Square Press Get your copy from Amazon, Waterstones and Bookdepository. Quick-witted, sexy, and business-minded, she knows and…

Book review | The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
Hi friends! A very short book review for The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley *incomiiiing!* in today’s post. I picked it up because of @abookloversdiary, who runs monthly book discussions for her Thriller Book Club. I really look forward to chatting to everyone on Sunday for the final discussion. Judging by the chat we’ve been having throughout the month already, this one definitely feels like a “marmite” kind of book. The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley Score /5 Published in 2019, by Harper Collins Get your copy from Amazon, Waterstones and Bookdepository. In a remote hunting lodge, deep in the Scottish wilderness, old friends gather for New Year. The beautiful one The golden couple…

Book review | Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
One of my favourite things about being part of the bookish community on Instagram is the countless book recommendations from like-minded people. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin was a recommendation present from Anna (@girlswhoreadaround) who saw how much I liked The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Afterlife, and speculative books about what happens after we die, do interest me a lot and I was so excited to get started with Anna’s recommendation. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin Rating .5/5 Published in 2016 by Bloomsbury You can order a copy from Amazon, Waterstones In this delightful novel death is a begining, a new start. Liz is killed in a hit a run accident and her…

Blog Tour | Forever Ends on Friday – Justin A. Reynolds
Happy Humpday, friends! Today’s blog tour stop is for one of my all time favourite author’s new UK book release and I am buzzing! I actually pre-ordered Early Departures, which is the US version of Forever Ends on Friday, without even reading the synopsis. You may be aware that I’m a diehard fan of Opposite Of Always! Jack-Attack for the win. If you haven’t already – read the review here. So you can only imagine the joy in my little cold heart when I got approached to get involved with the UK book tour. (Screams internally!!) Forever Ends on Friday by Justin A. Reynolds Score /5 Pub Date 21 January 2021,…

Book review | Half a World Away by Mike Gayle
I am struggling to put into words how I feel about this book. Although I was warned by many of you guys when I started this book, that I will need a box of tissues to cope with the heartache, I was not prepared. There aren’t enough tissues in the world to help me come to terms with what I’ve just read. Today’s post is my review of Half a World Away by Mike Gayle, in case I didn’t make it quite obvious in the title of this post.. ha! Blog Tour | What I Did – Kate Bradley
Hi friends, it’s that time again.. Blog tour for What I Did by Kate Bradley. What a treat! It must be said that this book caught my attention as soon as I started to skim over the blurb. (I’ve spoken about me not reading the full blurb properly, especially for thrillers as I’m too scared for spoilers!). Family dramas, obsessive and dysfunctional family storylines have always intrigued me. What that says about me, I don’t actually want to know! But I am so grateful that it ended up in my hands and started off my reading year with an absolute bang. Thank you so much to Zaffre for sending a…

Book Review | Playing Nice by JP Delaney
I am notorious for picking my monthly TBR and then chucking it out the window depending on the mood I’m in later on. Playing Nice was definitely not even on my radar at the beginning of the month, but the other day.. I changed my mind. Picking the next book to read is always a struggle, since I have well over 100 unread titles in my to-be-read pile. I am currently still in Estonia, which means that the majority of the books available are on my Kindle. Normally I’d use a TBR Jar but that, too, is in England and unavailable. Therefore I ran a quick poll on my Instagram…

Reading Challenge 2020 | April | American Psycho
April saw me reading American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis for satire. It has now been a few months (well nearly 5), since I read it and I am still scarred by it, although the first wave of nausea has well worn off! So American Psycho was a ride. A nice little ride except the bike was on fire and I was on fire and the whole world was on fire.. I’m fine. Really. 🤯 View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kat|Books Kat Likes| (@bookskatlikes) on May 20, 2020 at 1:43am PDT I don’t really care for content warning, generally.
