weekly update

Weekly (Reading) Update | 2021 | Week 6

Another Sunday, another Weekly (Reading) Update friends! I’m getting a little fed up with the fact I can’t fly home, and have been feeling incredibly homesick this past week. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to see my family soon.. But, that’s not what I wanted to talk to you about, today’s post is again my weekly (reading) update:

BOOKS

Oh boy did I finish The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah, finally! It was WILD; so wild! You can read the full review here.

I also finished (re)reading Sleep by C.L Taylor.  It’s a funny story. Sleep is @abookloversdiary February pick for her Thriller book Club and I was approx. 13 chapters in when it hit me that the story sounds incredibly familiar. When I say I had the biggest dejavu moment.. anyway I finally realised that I’ve already read this book! How silly. Here’s my review from 2019. My rating stays the same, it’s a good thriller and I would recommend 🙂

To give myself a little more variety, I started Home Before Dark by Riley Sager this morning. I’ve mentioned previously how I don’t generally like “a book in a book” trope but looks like this one may be an exception. I am completely invested, about 25% into it and cannot wait to find out where the story leads.

I’m also still slowly working my way through 11.22.63 by Stephen King. It’s a thick book, so  I anticipate to be reading it throughout February.

TV SHOWS/MOVIES

Nothing to report this week, I’ve been obsessed with re-watching plane crash investigations on National Geographic. This whole topic is so interesting, but also absolutely terrifying! Boyfriend and I are planning to start Firefly Lane next week, so that’s something to look forward to. I’ve seen it everywhere at the moment. Have you watched it yet?

MUSIC

Song of this week is The Ocean by Joseph Solomon.

And that’s it for this week. Let me know if you’ve read, watched or listened to something good this week in the comments below?
