Hi, so I am fully aware I missed last week’s Tell Me Something Tuesday. This was purely due to the fact I had nothing to add to the conversation. This week, however, I will happily throw in my two pence regarding review copies and how I get my books in general.
Where do you get your review books?
It’s no secret that I LOVE BOOKS. All kind of books- new, pre-loved, eBooks, audio books, picture books etc. But where do I get my review copies from?
There are currently 3 main sources:
- Thrift stores (local as well as online)
- NetGalley
- Authors/publicists
NetGalley has certainly got me more into eBooks. Originally I didn’t think I’d convert (see post here). But I do enjoy the convenience of an eReader now. Also, I’ve been lucky to have been sent some books directly by the author or the publicist, and for that I am most grateful.
However the majority of the books in my home library I have actually bought myself. The goal is to fill my whole house with books, although my other half isn’t very enthusiastic about this idea! I prefer to shop either online or a local thrift store. Because you know I’d not be able to afford living if all the books were brand new, WHY are they so expensive?! But every oso often I do like to treat myself to a trip to Waterstones and get a brand new shiny book.
