Found this fun tag on Vivatramp. Looks like the original creator’s video nor channel exist anymore, so unfortunately I’m unable to link them! But lets discuss reading habits today, anyway! A friend of mine has the funniest, and most annoying habit when she reads – she strokes the page she’s on with her thumb. Omg that noise! Anyone else do that?!
I like to smell books before I read them. Yes, a weirdo, but tell me honestly is there a better smell in the world than a new book? No. That’s right!
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I tend to do most of my reading at home, either on the sofa or in bed before going to sleep. I don’t have a special place at the moment, but it is my goal to create a reading nook in the garden this year.
Where do you like to read?
In the winter, I absolutely love reading in the bath. There’s just something about warm water and quietness that just makes this whole experience even better. Don’t worry, I’m super careful not to damage the books! On the contrary I enjoy reading in the garden during summer months. Sunshine, birds and light breeze is all I need to relax and enjoy the book the most.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I used to be a random piece of paper kind of girl, but the more I’ve started to read, the more I wanted a nice book mark. The one I currently have says “Not meow. I’m reading.”; it has a picture of a cute cat with glasses on it and it’s adorable!
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter / certain amount of pages?
Where possible, I try to end the chapter before putting the book down, but it isn’t a rule. I definitely finish the page and note the number of the next page though, that’s a rule.
Do you eat or drink while reading?
I tend to drink a lot of tea; I mean I drink tea with or without a book, but more so whilst I’m reading. I snack when I read, but do not eat dinner whilst reading.
Music or TV while reading?
None of that. I like to read in complete silence at home to get a break from the noisy day.
One book at a time or several at once?
As a rule one book at a time. I’ve tried to read many at the same time but I haven’t quite mastered it yet.
Reading at home or everywhere?
I do in fact read everywhere and anywhere – on my way to work, at work (lunchtime), on my way home, in the park, shops, bars, pubs – you name it. I’m a lot slower when I read surrounded by noise because I get distracted VERY easily.
Reading aloud or silently in your head?
Oh, definitely silently in my head!
Do you read ahead or skip pages?
No chance. I hate spoilers so much. I do, however, check the number of pages at the end of the book before I start reading. To master the art and not read the last sentence has been challenging to say the least!
Break the spine or keep it like new?
Bend that spine, bend it like there’s no tomorrow! Absolutely love when the book looks like it has been read and loved.
Do you write in your books?
No. Not so much because I don’t want to but more so because my handwriting would just ruin it.
Who do you tag?
Everyone who reads this post is tagged. Consider yourself tagged! Ha!
